Gordo, Cole, Jones and Masuda Lead in Early Election Results

In early results from Tuesday’s  Primary Election several candidates ran out to large leads.

In the mayoral race, incumbent Victor M. Gordo has taken a commanding lead, securing 10,506 votes, which accounts for 84.49% of the early returns. Challenger Allen Shay trails with 1,929 votes, representing 15.51% of the tally. Gordo’s substantial lead underscores strong support for his leadership among the city’s eligible voters.

The City Council races also saw significant activity, with incumbents and new faces vying for crucial seats.

In District 1, Tyron Hampton ran unopposed, garnering 1,160 votes to claim 100% of the early vote count. This unchallenged victory underscores Hampton’s strong standing within his District.

District 2 presented a more contested race, with Rick Cole leading at 62.54% or 1,172 votes, followed by Felicia Williams, who has received 702 votes, making up 37.46% of the early returns. 

In District 3, which is contending for an unexpired term ending December 7, 2026, Justin Jones leads with 666 votes or 63.43%, while Brandon D. Lamar has secured 384 votes, representing 36.57%. 

The District 4 race showcased a three-way contest with Gene Masuda leading at 69.93% or 1,698 votes. Jonathan Horton follows with 556 votes or 22.90%, and John Doyle has received 174 votes, accounting for 7.17% of the early vote count. Masuda’s lead suggests strong voter confidence in his continued service on the Council.

Lastly, in District 6, Steve Madison stood unopposed, echoing Hampton’s scenario in District 1, and secured 2,524 votes, translating to 100% of the early returns.

These preliminary results set the stage for Pasadena’s political landscape over the coming years, reflecting the community’s preferences and priorities.
