Great Food, Music and Fun Tonight During “San Marino Day” at the Huntington Library

The Huntington and the San Marino Chamber of Commerce will hold an event filled with gastronomic delights, fine wine, live music and family activities for free on April 5 from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Art Gallery Circle.

This year’s event, entitled “An Evening at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens,” is part of the first annual San Marino Day.

Stewart Rogers, president of the Chamber of Commerce, described it as “an event within an event.”

“We have our normal agenda – all the things that chambers like to do and we will play our program within their program,” he said.

Rogers credited the Huntington Library for the grand vision for San Marino Day.

All the gardens, The Huntington Art Gallery, and The Huntington Store will be open.

Among the events will be the food sampling at the San Marino Chamber of Commerce’s “Taste of San Marino,” a display of artwork from San Marino High School’s Honors Humanities seminar, a photo booth and a classic car and fire truck display.

There will also be a preview of the San Marino Centennial Photo Project, where more than 40 images will be on display.

The exhibit will offer but a “sneak peek” into the more than 60,000 images of photographers Bill Youngblood and Terry Fouché. The photo project  was launched in 2012 and is just now concluding.

Live music is courtesy of the San Marino Community Band.

Food enthusiast Peter Dills will host the Chamber’s annual “Best Of” awards.  There will also be raffle prizes and a silent auction.
