For a second night in a row, gunshots reportedly rung out in same neighborhood.

Pasadena police officers, earlier today, were sent back to the 500 block of North Marengo Avenue on a reporting shooting call – the same location where a man was wounded Tuesday night by an unknown assailant.

In this case, officers dispatched to the location just before 2 a.m. found no evidence that a shooting even occurred, said Pasadena police Sgt. Roger Roldan.

Still, an individual reported to police that he saw a suspect shooting on the sidewalk. So officers will head back to the scene, at daybreak, in an attempt to gather any evidence of a possible shooting, the police sergeant said.

Police were also in the 500 block of North Marengo Avenue Tuesday night, where a man was wounded by an unknown assailant about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Roldan said.

Paramedics rushed the victim to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The police sergeant said the shootings, both in the 500 block of North Marengo Avenue, were not related and were out of the normal for the area.

“It’s not a habitual type of issue out there,’’ he said. “It’s a bit out of the norm. We don’t know what’s causing it (the shootings).”

Pasadena police asked anyone with any information regarding either shooting to call them at (626) 744-4241.
