A man armed with a handgun robbed an auto parts store in Pasadena late Saturday, officials said.

The crime took place about 9:15 p.m. at O’Reilly Auto Parts, at Lake Avenue and Mountain Street, Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.

The robber first posed as a customer before ultimately pulling a handgun and demanding money from an employee, he said.

After receiving about $200, the robber ordered the employee to lie on the ground and ran away, according to the lieutenant.

Police described the robber as a Black man standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, of medium build. He wore black mask, a black hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head and dark pants.
