Heat Advisory Continues Saturday, Cooling Trend Takes Over Sunday

A heat advisory for Pasadena remains in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday. National Weather Service forecasters predicted a third scorching day, with temperatures hitting 94, but said the mercury will start falling Sunday.

Next week will be in the 80’s.

The County today will again open an Emergency Cooling Center at Robinson Park Community Center, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave. from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All visitors who come to the Center should bring with them and wear a face covering at all times. The Center will be staffed by trained Disaster Service Workers from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services.

NEWS forecasters warned all residents to drink lots of fluids and seek out air conditioning, while avoiding the sun.

“Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside,” according to the NWS. “When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight clothing when possible.”

Forecasters said Saturday’s temperatures will actually be slightly lower than Friday, with more noticeable cooling on Sunday and Monday, although temperatures “will still remain above seasonal normals.”

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 94. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming northeast after midnight.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming northeast in the evening.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 87.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 84.
