Heat Advisory Declared for Thursday as Forecasters Expect Pasadena to Reach 99 Degrees

The National Weather Service backed off their earlier triple-digit heat prediction for Pasadena today but stuck with issuing a heat warning starting Thursday at 11 a.m. and lasting through Saturday night.

They stuck with their earlier forecasts that Friday will hit 102 and Saturday 100.

The heat was expected to begin backing down Sunday, with a high temperature of 92 degrees predicted in the Pasadena area.

The NWWS urged Pasadenans to rink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances, it said.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or

evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible.

Today: Sunny and hot, with a high near 99. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 69. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.

Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 102. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 69. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming east northeast in the evening.

Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100. Light and variable wind becoming south southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 64.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 92.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 87.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.
