Holy Family Church: Journey to the Center with Fr. Michael Fish OSB CAM

August 24-25, Mater Dolorosa Retreat House

Published on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 | 8:37 pm

Last year, Fr. Michael Fish walked the 500 mile pilgrimage of the Camino Santiago in Spain. Everyone is invited to attend a 3 day retreat using the Camino Santiago as a map to the “Journey To The Center”. People of faith have gone into the desert and mountains on retreat to be sensitive to the presence of God for thousands of years. Today, there often comes a time when we must say “no” to the busy-ness we have created in our life and simply say “yes” to the part of ourselves that needs a time and space for deeper communion with God.

Cost $325.00. For more information contact Karen Judson, wkjudson@earthlikn.net, (818) 249-9419. Passionist retreat centers provide that time and space to be with God in a more intimate way. Michael Fish is Camaldolese monk and a member of the New Camaldoli Hermitage in Big Sur California. He currently lives as a hermit, in solitude and prayer. Solitude is only part of his calling and he offers retreats, talks and spiritual direction to his brothers and sisters in religious and lay communities. Michael with the assistance of contemporary writing and teachers, especially Thomas Merton, continues to develop the notion of “the inner monk”, “the hermit in the world” and how to live a monastic rhythm in the world.
