Homeless Man Assaulted by Another Transient Monday Morning During an Argument

A 67-year-old homeless man was assaulted by another transient Monday morning during an argument, police said.

The fight broke out around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Del Mar Avenue and Pasadena Avenue in a dispute over an unknown topic, according to Lieutenant Mark Goodman of the Pasadena Police Department.

“They engaged in an argument yesterday, and that argument escalated into a physical fight,” Goodman said.

During the fight, the victim sustained injuries to the head and throat which required medical attention, according to Goodman.

“There was no weapon, the suspect was able to use his hands and his arms in a manner that, had he been successful, may have resulted in significant injury to the victim,” Goodman said.

The suspect, a 33-year-old male, is still outstanding and police are actively trying to locate him, according to Goodman.
