An apparent car-to-car shooting in a residential neighborhood at 9:28 p.m. Tuesday set off a two-hour-long, helicopter-backed search for the armed suspects which resulted, ultimately, in the captures of three parolees, police said.
Pasadena Police responded to a “shots fired” call in the vicinity of North Garfield Avenue and Douglas Street. Arriving officers encountered a car parked in the middle of Garfield, and three suspects whom immediately ran from the car, authorities said.
A containment area was set up centered on the 1100 block of North Garfield Avenue, and police backed by a helicopter — soon reportedly joined by two news helicopters — surveyed the neighborhood for almost two hours looking for the suspects.
Ultimately, police took into custody three local men and one handgun. All the suspects are on parole, reported Lt. John Luna.
Arrested were Jarell Taylor, 24, of Pasadena; Dejohn Ogletree, 24, of Altadena; and Dalonte Andrews,26, also of Altadena, according to the Lieutenant. All three were booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
Police could not locate any victims of the shooting, Luna said.
