A jailed woman being fingerprinted in the Pasadena Jail about 9:50 p.m. Saturday night allegedly suddenly punched a male custodial officer in the nose —  adding a felony to her booking counts.

The officer’s nose was bloodied in the incident, Pasadena Police Lt. John Mercado said.

The woman, identified as 22-year old Angela Adams, a transient, had been arrested earlier in the day by South Pasadena Police on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.

Adams’ alleged assault was “without provocation,” Mercado said.

The officer immediately drew his Taser and ordered Adams to the ground, where he and other jailers were able to handcuff her, Mercado said.

Adams is “now being held for felony battery on a custodial officer,” Mercado said.
