L.A. Metro Extends Public Comment Period On North Hollywood To Pasadena Route

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced Monday that it is extending to Dec. 28 the public comment period for the North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit Corridor Project.

The MTA plans to build a Bus Rapid Transit line that would connect the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys, traveling east-west between the North Hollywood Metro B (Red)/G (Orange) Line Station and Pasadena City College with stops in downtown Burbank, Glendale and Eagle Rock, depending on the route option.

Metro officials said staff extended the public comment period on the project because the original public comment period fell within the 2020 election and the start of the holiday period, and they want to allow stakeholders more time to learn about and weigh in on the project.

Metro released its draft environmental impact report on Oct. 26 and has since held two virtual public hearings to provide information and gather community feedback on the $267 million, 18-mile project.

Metro officials said they will continue to take feedback from the community via its virtual platform and by phone, email and mail.

The draft report is designed to provide the community with information on potential environmental impacts, identify ways to prevent potential damage to the environment and provide information about the decision-making process, Metro officials said. It also includes information on potential route options and alternatives.
