Langham Huntington Hotel Tentatively Slated to Re-Open June 1

Hotel offers promotion to support nurses

[Updated] As local businesses begin to firm up plans to reopen, a Langham Huntington hotel official said the iconic landmark property will tentatively  re-open June 1. The re-opening is part of a phased-in series of local business openings, state-wide.

The historic Pasadena landmark is also offering two special promotions as part of a re-opening. Guests can book now to get 20 percent off rates through Dec. 31, or book a bed-and-breakfast package for a later date through Jan. 31, as part of the Buy One, Give One offer.

With the Buy One, Give One offer, the hotel will donate a complimentary stay for a healthcare worker through the American Nurses Association.

“There is no better group in the U.S. that we can think of to give back to at this difficult time than our nurses and medical professionals,” said Bob van den Oord, regional vice president of operations for Langham Hospitality Group in the U.S. “We are participating in this program with one of our most popular packages, our Bed & Breakfast offer, to ensure that we can make the most robust donation possible to the rest and recuperation of America’s nurses.”

Reservations for dates made from June 1 through June 30, for stays through June 30, will earn a complimentary stay will be donated to the American Nurses Association and will then be distributed to medical professionals. This offer applies to reservations confirmed by June 30 for stay dates through Jan. 31, and is subject to availability.

Hotels and Hospitality services have been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic with 70 percent of hotel employees laid off or furloughed and eight in 10 hotel rooms empty, according to data released by the Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA).

A dozen California hotels are also participating in the Buy One, Give One program, including Estancia La Jolla, Ventura’s Clocktower Inn, and Paséa in Huntington Beach.
