A police chase that began in Hollywood ended when the fleeing vehicle smashed into another car at a Pasadena intersection on Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect was taken into custody and hospitalized with injuries described as moderate following the 1:40 p.m. crash at Del Mar Boulevard and Raymond Avenue, Pasadena city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said.
A woman at the wheel of an SUV that was T-boned by the fleeing suspect was treated at the scene for minor injuries, she said.
The chase started at about 1:15 p.m. in the 6500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, near Wilcox Avenue in Hollywood, according to Officer Mike Chan of the Los Angeles Police Department.
A caller notified police after observing that a “victim was thrown out of a vehicle by the suspect,” Chan said. Further details about the incident were not available.
The pursuit ended up getting onto 110 Freeway, then onto Pasadena surface street, just prior to the collision, officials said.
