Leadership Pasadena Announces Honorees for Tenth Anniversary Event

Chef Bernard Melekian and PUSD Board President Tom Selinske head to list of honorees

The list of honorees for Leadership Pasadena’s Tenth Anniversary celebration covers a virtual “Who’s Who” of those who have contributed to the welfare of Pasadena over the past decade.

“People think of Leadership Pasadena as a training ground for advanced local leadership,” notes current Leadership Pasadena Board Chair Martin Gordon, “but what we really are is a place for people to come together and grow together, creating amazing synergies in service to our community.”

“As we appreciate the current set of strong leaders who are strong supporters of Leadership Pasadena, for example Mayor Bogaard, City Manager Beck and PUSD Superintendent Diaz, we are pleased to take time at this event to honor those leaders who paved the way for where Pasadena stands today,” adds Leadership Pasadena Director Mark Mastromatteo.

Honorees for the evening’s event are the legacy founders of Leadership Pasadena. They include departing Pasadena Police Chief Bernard Melekian and current PUSD Board President Tom Selinske.  Also honored are Lightbringer Project President Tom Coston, Caltech Assistant Vice President  Hall Daily, Pasadena Chief Information Officer Ann Erdman, Pasadena Heritage Foundation President Mic Hansen, Huntington Hospital President and CEO Steve Ralph, Vistage CEO Gail Schaper- Gordon, local consultant Gerda Govine, PCC Operations Supervisor Ibrahim Naeem, founding LP Board Chair Sarah Smith Orr, founding LP Executive Director Greg Apodaca, So Cal Gas Company’s Tony Tartaglia, PUSD’s Suzanne Berberian, LPL Financial’s Hunt Salembier, Valencia, Perez and Echeveste’s Manuel Valencia, CPA Bob Pacheco, community activists Socorro Manzanilla, Jane Wetzel, and Thelma Vickroy, former Pasadena Mayor and current Ventura City Manager Rick Cole, former Pasadena City Manager Phil Hawkey, and former Urban League President Pat Bradley (posthumous).
