Leadership Pasadena Names Lisa Raggio to the Board of Directors

Leadership Pasadena (LP) is proud to elect Lisa Raggio to the Board of Directors.

Lisa Raggio joins the Board as the Vice President, Veterans Services. Lisa has a long history of non-profit and community initiative leadership to share with Leadership Pasadena.

Lisa Raggio was nominated for the James Irvine Foundation’s Leadership award, the national YWCA USA Advocacy Award and was a VIP guest of the White House and First Lady for a “Champions of Change” event representing the national office for her work at the YWCA Glendale. While Senior Director of Community Services, Development & Communications for the Glendale YWCA, Raggio created the YWCA of Glendale’s “Focus on Female Veterans” program launched in 2012, nationally recognized and regarded as a “Best Practice” program in the 2014 California Department of Veterans Affairs’ Women Veterans Outreach Toolkit.

Raggio is the co-founder with past Glendale Mayor Quintero of the Veterans Coalition of Glendale and the Verdugos (VCGV). The VCGV includes service providers, veterans, community leaders, legislative representatives and city council members focusing on the issues affecting local veterans. Lisa was deeply involved in Glendale and Burbank’s first veterans housing programs. In addition, she is a member of the Veterans Advisory Committee for the 29th Congressional district and a member of the Community College Student Veterans Advisory Committee for Intelecom Learning.

Prior to her work at the Glendale YWCA, Raggio served as Verdugo Mental Health (VMH) Care Foundation’s Director of Development and Communications for 10 years.
Before her work in the nonprofit sector, she worked for several years at Nestle USA and Disney in strategic planning.

“Lisa is now focusing on veteran’s issues and an independent Development and Communications Strategist/ Non Profit Consultant and we are thrilled to have her join our Board,” stated LP Board Chair Martha Schenberg.

Leadership Pasadena is an 8-month program designed to strengthen individuals to become more effective leaders for the Pasadena community and build strong cross-sector relationships among diverse community and business leaders. With its many civic, non-profit and community organizations, there is a large need for empowered and connected community leaders to address the concerns and issues of the Pasadena area and Leadership Pasadena creates these leaders.
