According to the LA County Registrar’s Office, only 55% of registered voters voted in the midterm elections.

According to the data, 48,851 ballots of the 88,291 registered voters cast ballots in the election.

Two important initiatives were passed by local residents. Voters extended a tax that has been used for decades to help fund the City’s library. Voters also passed a rent control initiative.

Voters also decided four school board races.

Several years ago, the City was forced to change its election calendar to match the state’s calendar to increase voter turnout.

As a result of the change, the city no longer conducts its own elections.

The November election was the third since the change. In the first election since the change more than 81% of Pasadena’s registered voters cast ballots in November’s General Election, according to the Los Angeles County Registrar/County Clerk’s Office.
