Light Rain, Big Chill Predicted for Pasadena on Sunday, Monday

Two days of scattered rain and plunging temperatures are expected to move into Southern California beginning Sunday.

Precipitation amounts, however, are expected to be limited across much of the region, generally a half-inch or less, with no flooding concerns, according to the National Weather Service.

“A cold storm will move over the area Sun into Mon with mainly light rain expected,” the NWS tweeted. 

But the bigger story is the temperature drop: Pasadena could see a high of just 53 on Sunday and 54 on Monday. The nights will drop into the upper thirties.

Here is the NWS forecast for Pasadena:

Sunday: A 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 53. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday Night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Monday: Showers likely, mainly before 5 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 54. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Monday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Northeast wind 5 to 15 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 60.

Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 37.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 64.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 37.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 65.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 68.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 69.
