It’s back to school time, and no matter if classes are online, in person, or a combination of the two, students need the correct tools and supplies to succeed. To support students and teachers, One Colorado is asking shoppers to donate new back-to-school supplies to its Load the Lockers program, now through September 21. The bright yellow lockers are located on property in the courtyard.

One Colorado has partnered with the Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) to help distribute the donated school supplies. HOLA provides underserved youth with free, exceptional programs in academics, arts, and athletics within a nurturing environment; empowering them to develop their potential, pursue their education, and strengthen their communities. All of HOLA’s programs are offered at no cost to the families they serve.

To support students, Load the Lockers is accepting a wide variety of new supplies including journals, Play-Doh, sketchbooks, headphones, stamps, envelopes, origami paper, giant stress ball, yoga mats, colorful pens,
Becoming: A Guided Journal, NATGEO Mega Gemstone Dig Kit, dragon puzzle, travel mugs, popcorn, alarm clock, and more.

Anyone donating an item is encouraged take a photo of their donation and post it to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #LoadTheLockers and tag @OneColoradoOldPasadena. One Colorado is also offering shoppers the chance to win an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil; simply text BTS1CO to 55800 from a mobile device to enter.

“HOLA provides arts and athletics opportunities for underserved youth; and we’re proud that our Load the Lockers program supports their third focus area – academics,” said Rishika Mahtani, Regional Marketing Manager, ShopCore Properties, which owns and operates One Colorado. “Thank you in advance to everyone who will be donating new supplies into our bright yellow lockers – all donations will help the youth in our community succeed.”
