Local Man Reportedly Causes Havoc on Pasadena’s Fast Food Restaurant Row

A Pasadena man suspected of having recently led police on a wild car pursuit was arrested again Tuesday after he allegedly tried to carjack a vehicle in line at a fast-food drive-through on North Lake Avenue.

Police said as the suspect tried to clamber in the passenger side door, the driver roared out of the drive-through and turned onto Lake Ave. The suspect finally let go.

But the suspect wasn’t finished yet, police said.

He next reportedly wrestled a shopping cart filled with recyclables away from a man standing on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant and fled with it.

The suspect, pushing the cart, apparently wasn’t difficult for arriving officers to locate.

He was quickly arrested and identified in the field by both victims, police said. Neither victim was injured.

Pasadena police reported the suspect is 44-year-old Jonathan Huff. The incidents took place shortly after 4 p.m. in the 700 block of North Lake Ave.

Huff is currently being held in Los Angeles at the Sheriff’s Dept. Inmate Reception Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.

On April 16 Huff allegedly stole an automobile from mechanics at Rusnak automobile dealership on West Colorado Boulevard in what police called a “wild” and “crazy” pursuit that officers called off in Los Angeles because it was too dangerous.
