Good basic transportation at an affordable price

The 2011 Nissan Versa Sedan is a smaller version of the Nissan Versa Hatchback and comes with similar fuel economy. It also mirrors the drivetrains of the Hatchback. What sets it apart for it’s competition is that it’s the lowest price of all the economy cars.

The 2011 Versa Sedan is powered with a 1.8L four cylinder with a rate of 22 horsepower and with some 127 lb-ft of torque. All its power is sent directly to the front wheels with your choice of a four speed automatic or six-speed manual. Whatever the configuration of your transmission, the Versa Sedan can achieve an EPA highway economy rating of more than 30 mpg.

Not much is new for 2011 except for a standard six-disc audio system on the S Sedan and anti-lock breaks on all models except the entry-level. But to be fair 2010 saw a large number of refinements such as a new grille, fresh wheels and the option of stability, traction control and navigation.

Additional options include a highly convenient package that includes a keyless entry system, connectivity for Bluetooth driven phones, and a leather wrapped steering wheel. It also has an audio package for the music lover in you which has a premium speaker system along with a subwoofer powered by Rocksford Fosgate.

It may not be as fast as the other cars but its level of agility and its capacity to absorb bumps on the road are already more than enough for its size. What is more good news is that if you are not so satisfied with its basic look, then there are options that you can add to it which you cannot commonly find in other economy vehicles. For instance, the power moonroof is exclusive to the 1.8 SL models along with the 5 inch LCD television screen monitors and subscription based radio.

The 2011 Nissan Versa Sedan is a small car that comes with a European style of design. Even if it does not offer as much cargo space as the Hatchback (17.8 compared to 13.8 cubic feet), it still passes for a pleasant looking and compact vehicle.  And unlike most small cars, the Versa offers a roomy cabin for five.

If what you need is simple transportation and nothing more then the Versa is for you. It’s not an exciting drive by any means but it is a consistent and reliable one.
