Low Humidity, Wind Gusts Create Local Fire Watch Conditions

Santa Ana winds are returning to the Southland beginning Wednesday, prompting a warning for extreme fire danger that goes into effect Wednesday evening.

Although Pasadena will only see mild winds with possible gusts up to 20 mph on Friday, the warm dry temperatures create fire weather and wildfires are more likely.

“It will be very dry and the low humidities and very strong winds will produce very dangerous fire weather conditions,” the National Weather Service said.

The NWS said the great danger would peak between 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 p.m. Friday.

Temperatures in Pasadena are expected to be in the mid- to lower 70’s.

The City of Pasadena has not issued a red flag parking conditions alert.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 73. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
