Pasadena police detectives traveled to Rosemead on Saturday to arrest the suspect in the case of man who allegedly raped a woman who is his co-worker.
Pasadena police Lt. John Mercado said the sexual assault reportedly took place over a week ago, on February 20, when a number of workers went out for drinks after work.
The victim became ill, and the suspect drove her home to her Pasadena residence. There, Mercado said, the suspect allegedly raped the victim, who is a young Asian woman.
Taken into custody in the 1800 block of Walnut Grove Avenue around 11 a.m. yesterday was Rene Flores, of Alhambra, who is in his late twenties, Mercado said.
Flores was booked in the city jail for rape, Mercado said.
