An assault took place in the back parking lot of the 1881 Club, a well-known bar in north Pasadena, at about 8:26 p.m. Monday, according to Lieutenant Vasken Gourdikian of the Pasadena Police Department.
Gourdikian said the suspect approached the victim and without provocation struck the victim in the face and head with an unknown type of cylindrical object.
The victim was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.
The suspect ran then eastbound and escaped through an alley that exists into Belford Avenue, Gourdikian said.
The motive of this attack is unknown, according to Gourdikian.
