Police arrested two Pasadena men for involvement in an alleged armed robbery at the parking lot of a 7-11 store on Lake Avenue and Orange Grove Blvd. Thursday night.

Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman said the suspects were alleged to have threatened a 33-year-old man, also a Pasadena resident, with a gun as they were arguing in the parking lot at 690 N. Lake Avenue.

“During the argument, one of the suspects produced a handgun and threatened the victim with it,” Goodman said. “A physical fight ensued between the victim and that suspect, during which the suspect stole a piece of jewelry from around the victim’s neck. After stealing the piece of jewelry, both suspects entered a vehicle and fled the location.”

With the suspects gone, the victim was able to report the incident to the police department.

Goodman said officers responded to the scene and after investigation were able to identify the suspects – one, a 25-year-old man, and the other a 38-year-old man – both of whom are from Pasadena.

The suspects were arrested not far from the scene of the incident. Goodman said he could not release the names since investigation was ongoing.

“The victim sustained a minor injury during the incident but did not require medical treatment,” Goodman added.

Officers did not recover the handgun used in the armed robbery. The victim’s jewelry was not recovered, either.

Detective section personnel are conducting follow-up investigation on the case, Goodman said.
