A man who arranged to buy marijuana online ended up being robbed by the purported seller at the Hilton Pasadena on Sunday night, police said.
The crime occurred at about 10:30 p.m. at the hotel, 168 S. Los Robles Ave., where the victim was staying, Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins said.
A 19-year-old man used an online app to arrange to purchase marijuana. But when the purported seller arrived at the hotel room, he robbed the victim of property, including a Gucci bag, a Playstation 4 and an iPhone, according to the lieutenant.
The robber’s gestures indicated he had a weapon in his waistband, although none was seen, Dawkins said.
Police described the robber as a Black man standing about 6 feet tall, weighing about 160 pounds, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, and a surgical face mask.
