A 53-year-old Pasadena man was shot three times at close range Sunday night and not only survived but has already been released from a local hospital, police said.
Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman said the man suffered a gunshot which grazed the left side of his head and exited behind his left ear as well as two shots to his left shoulder area.
The man told authorities he had been walking eastbound along the sidewalk on the north side of West Washington Boulevard between El Sereno and North Fair Oaks Avenues about 8:12 p.m. when he was passed by a man wearing a dark-colored hoodie heading in the same direction.
The suspect “allegedly turned around back towards the victim, they exchanged a few words and then the suspect shot the victim three times,” said Lt. Goodman.
“The victim was transported to a local hospital. His wounds were found to be completely non-life threatening and he was subsequently treated and released,” Goodman said.
The police investigation is continuing. There is no known motive reported at this writing, and the victim told police he could not identify the suspect.
