Man Shot, Washington School Locked Down Tuesday

Pasadena police say officers responding to a “shots fired” call in the 1600 block of North Fair Oaks Ave. around 11:17 a.m. Tuesday found a male Black adult with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation suggests that two individuals were shooting at one another following a dispute. One individual was struck by gunfire and the other is yet to be found despite an extensive search. police report.

Washington Elementary School was placed on lock down because of the proximity to the shooting. PUSD Administration was notified and officers were placed on campus as security to ensure the safety of students. The school lock down was in effect for approximately one hour.

Detectives are actively investigating the shooting and seeking any witnesses who may have information.
