Mayor Victor Gordo said he will nominate Vice Mayor Andy Wilson to represent the city on the Arroyo Verdugo Communities Joint Powers Authority (AVCJPA) and Councilmember Steve Madison to serve on the Rose Bowl Operating Co. (RBOC) Board.

The City Council is expected to vote on the mayor’s nominations at its meeting Monday.

“Each board and council member has a unique character and history and the collaboration and communication will help us utilize our knowledge and expertise to maximize resources, achieve sustainable solutions, and advocate for our interests to improve the quality of life in our city,” Gordo said in a prepared statement.

The AVCJPA consists of members from Pasadena, South Pasadena, Burbank, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge and unincorporated Crescenta Valley/Montrose.

The city councils in the respective communities approved the formation of the JPA in 2018 and are working on a five-year funding plan for the JPA’s Multiyear Sub-regional Programs (MSP).

This includes the AVCJPA’s plans to spend Measure M funds, which was a voter-approved sales tax measure to help address homelessness.

The mission of the Rose Bowl Operating Co. is to return economic and civic value to the city by managing the world-class stadium and a professional quality golf course complex in a community-based environment.
