On December 24 and 31, all Metro Rail and Bus lines will be free starting at 9 p.m. on Monday until 2 a.m. on Tuesday, December 25 and 9 p.m. on Monday until 2 a.m. on Tuesday January 1 keeping with the bus company’s tradition of providing free rides to its customers this Holiday season.
Metro said the free rides are also expected to decongest traffic on the busiest nights of the year when revelers stay late and also keep them safe from drinking and driving.
It added that Metro Rail would continue its operations all-night on New Year’s Eve to service those staying out extra late and also provide smooth travel to those watching the Rose parade in Pasadena.
However, Metro reminded travelers that the free ride ends at 2 a.m. on January 1, when the free ride expires, travelers will need to use their TAP cards.
Metro Rail and Metro Bus systems will operate on a Sunday schedule Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
