More than 30 gunshots rang out in a Pasadena neighborhood on Monday night, but no victims were found at the scene or at area hospitals, authorities said.

The shooting took place just before 10:30 p.m. at Hammond Street and Morton Avenue, according to Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema.

Patrol officers heard gunfire in the area, and police received multiple calls reporting gunshots, he said.

While searching the area, officers found more than 30 bullet casings, the lieutenant said. But no victims were found at the scene, and area hospitals did not report receiving any patients in connection with the incident.

Multiple shooters were believed to have been involved, Hettema said. It initially appeared the gunfire was directed south, in the direction of the Robinson Park parking lot.

No suspect description was available.
