Nine and Nine, one of our favorite Thai spots in the Playhouse District (it’s opposite the Target between Hudson and South Oak Knoll), kicks off the holidays with a new menu, owner Sid Chatapolchuntaya tells us. What’s new for you to enjoy?
First off, some new curry dishes will join his line-up of already popular plates (“green and yellow are our most popular,” he tells us). But Sid’s favorite is the new Eggplant Basil ($7.50), which is prepared with fresh eggplant and your choice of meat and seasoned with basil leaf and bell peppers.
“It’s very good!” says Side, with a laugh.
There are several tired, worn Thai restaurants on Colorado Boulevard near Lake Avenue; Nine and Nine stands out because it’s clean, well-decorated and contemporary. The recipe’s are all Sid’s (although he refuses the title of “Chef”). He says he really cares about taste and quality.
“I am really concerned about my customers. I want everybody to be happy,” he says.
