City officials confirmed 17 more local COVID-19 cases and no deaths on Wednesday.

Based on the new numbers, the city totals increased cases to 900 cases and the death toll remains at 82.

Gov. Newsom has issues several guidelines this allowing for the reopening of hair and nail salons outside of LA County and church and retail stores.

So far there have been no guidelines issued for the reopening of restaurants.

On Wednesday, the Pasadena’s Health Officer this morning issued an official city order which says in-store retail sales and in-person religious services can resume, and offices can reopen, more than two months after safer-at-home orders were issued because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The order from Dr. Ying-Ying Goh does not include personal services such as hair salons, nail salons and barbershops.

People are still encouraged to “remain in their residences as much as practicable, to limit close contact with others outside their households in both indoor and outdoor spaces,” Dr. Goh’s order read. “All persons who can telework or work from home should continue to do so as much as possible during this pandemic.”

Businesses, offices and houses of worship that want to reopen must have health and safety protocols in place that allow for social distancing.
