Pasadena Police responded to a fight and subsequent shooting in Old Pasadena at 1:40 a.m. Thursday. No one was hurt, but two suspects are in custody, according to Pasadena Police Lt. William Grisafe.
Officers were alerted to a fight that was in progress in the parking lot at the rear of a building in the 100 block of East Colorado Boulevard. When they arrived, they saw the first suspect, 31-year-old Roberto Gonzalez from Huntington Park, at the trunk of a vehicle where he allegedly removed a handgun and fired one round in the direction of the group fighting.
Officers immediately attempted to take Gonzalez into custody, but he fled on foot.
Police gave chase, at which time Gonzalez allegedly discarded the weapon, before running into the waiting arms of other officers who were in the immediate area. He was taken into custody and is being held in the LA Inmate Reception Center on $50,000 bail.
A second suspect allegedly involved in the fight, 24-year-old Los Angeles resident Alejandro Mendoza, was also taken into custody. He is being held in the Los Angeles Inmate Reception Center on $85,000 bail.
According to Lt. Grisafe, the remaining men involved in the incident dispersed and remain at large.
