Ole Reliable, Escalating Gas Prices

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose to its highest amount since Nov. 2 today, increasing 3.3 cents to $4.091, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The average price has risen 35 of the past 37 days and 39 of the past 42, including 2.5 cents on Wednesday. The average price is 24.2 cents more than one week ago, 42.8 cents higher than one month ago and 28.3 cents greater than one year ago.

Los Angeles and San Diego counties are now tied for the highest average price of gasoline in the state.
