I’m a Pasadena native now living in Altadena, and watched this story w interest yesterday. I commend the officers involved in a very tense, stressful and dangerous situation and am glad that the suspect was apprehended. Warm wishes to you, Chief, and your officers.   —Victoria K. Knapp

Thank you, Chief Sanchez. I appreciate the PPD working hard to keep our community safe. There are bad people among us, and the PPD has the difficult job of having to deal with them daily. Thanks to the whole department for all the hard work!  —Mark Schaberg

Grateful officers are safe. —Joanne Nelson

Wow! Thank God the officer is ok!! —Donna Panelli Grogan

He was armed causing havoc and people say don’t shoot him. The suspect was RUNNING AWAY , the police don’t know where he is running to he could turn around any time and shoot them. He is a danger to the public and to the officers life. They did the right thing. —Jacob Miravet

That guy was a danger to any and all citizens in his way as he was fleeing from police with a gun. I’m glad they took him down. My friend and her very young daughter were outside right where this happened. This guy could have seen them and taken them hostage in his attempt to get away from PPD. Better him on the ground then them. —Rebecca Contreras

The city released an announcement that he fired at the police then ran with a firearm still in his hands. Frankly even if he hadn’t fired the weapon but was running with a gun you have to expect this could be the outcome. I support that.—Julie Lee Kimura

Good ppd…glad all officers are safe. —Joshua Ivory
