Our Pasadena Moving Meetings Online

Pasadena’s going to hold virtual open houses for its Our Pasadena – Putting the Plan in Motion program. The idea behind moving the July through December meetings online is to try to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Our Pasadena was started in 2018 as a way to inform people about the city’s General Plan. The campaign includes workshops, walking tours, pop-up events and youth activities.

“Through this process, all eight of Pasadena’s Specific Plans will be updated, resulting in new development standards and guidelines that will help shape Pasadena’s major commercial and mixed-use areas for generations to come,” the city said in a statement released Monday.

During the virtual open houses, which are the final phase of community meetings, people can explore interactive stations with info on potential development standards for new commercial and residential projects along Pasadena’s major commercial and mixed-use corridors, including Colorado and Foothill boulevards, Lincoln, Fair Oaks and Lake avenues.

Eight virtual open houses will be held, one for each of Pasadena’s Specific Plan areas. Users who go to OurPasadena.org can review draft standards and submit comments online.

The statement also says the planning department is looking at more engagement options, including setting up weekly telephone or virtual office hours where community members can speak with a planner about a Specific Plan.
