Pacific Oaks College Launches B.S. in Business Administration

The College’s Newest Program Prepares Socially-Conscious Business Leaders

Pacific Oaks College announced Tuesday it will introduce a new Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program at its Pasadena and San Jose campuses as well as online, officially launching in May 2020.

The program provides students the leadership and analytical skills needed to lead a business or thrive as part of a professional team. It also places heavy emphasis on corporate social responsibility and ethical decision-making in an effort to merge Pacific Oaks’ values and mission of social justice, respect, diversity, and inclusion with the rising need for adept business leaders.

“Over the years, business schools were blamed for failing to integrate and promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) in their curricula. Focusing on the bottom line and ignoring the well-being of the community are not acceptable. CSR must be undertaken by businesses to ensure a better tomorrow,” said Dr. Jack Paduntin, President of Pacific Oaks College and Children’s School. “Pacific Oaks College's B.S. in Business Administration program incorporates CSR in various ways. We are proud to play our part and help our students develop socially responsible mindsets, creating both conscientious and successful leaders for tomorrow's business world.”

The 120 credit bachelor’s program offers concentrations in business management and human resources management. The core curriculum of the program also touches on essential components of modern businesses such as e-commerce, strategic analysis, data-driven decision making, diversity and inclusion, and global business management.

Currently, many undergraduate business administration programs at California public colleges and universities have highly competitive acceptance rates, which may limit students’ access to them or their ability to graduate in a timely manner. Pacific Oaks College’s program provides students with the opportunity to pursue a degree in business administration in a time frame and learning style best suited to their needs. “The new Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Pacific Oaks is designed to prepare students for a successful career in business and management. For adult-learners who have been in the workforce for many years and want to make a positive impact in the world, the program allows individuals to bring their real-world contributions to the classroom while also carving out a pathway that is meaningful in their workplace, elevating them both on a personal and professional level,” said Dr. Theresa Greene, who leads Pacific Oaks’ Business and Management programs.

For Pacific Oaks’ B.S. in Business Administration inaugural class, students who enter the program in the summer 2020 term are also eligible to apply for the B.S. Business Administration Scholarship, an award of up to $5000. For more information, applicants are encouraged to contact admissions@pacificoaks.edu.
