Parsons, a Pasadena-headquartered technology-driven engineering services firm with expertise in defense, intelligence, and cybersecurity, has announced it is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Business-Higher Education Forum’s Future Cyber Leaders Program. The program, which is in its pilot year and began on June 8, runs Wednesday afternoons through July 20 in Washington, D.C.

The Future Cyber Leaders Program brings together a select cohort of more than 25 undergraduate interns in a 7-week program—supported by the Office of Naval Research—to engage in cyber academic enrichment, leadership building, and networking opportunities provided by sponsoring aerospace and defense sector organizations. Interns will participate in activities designed to deepen their experiences in cyber, including tours of corporate and government facilities, dialogues with guest speakers from the cyber industry and policy community, professional development seminars, hack-a-thons and other cyber competitions, and presentations by faculty members from various college campuses in the Northern Virginia area.

“As a major provider of cybersecurity solutions to the federal government and commercial customers, Parsons is committed to the development of the next generation of leaders in cybersecurity,” said Biff Lyons, Parsons Executive Vice President and Defense & Security Division Manager. “By participating in the Future Cyber Leaders Program, we hope to broaden students’ cybersecurity experience and grow their passion for the industry.”

As a Business-Higher Education Forum member organization and Future Cyber Leaders Program participating sponsor, Parsons will codevelop a program activity for the students with Business-Higher Education Forum—an organization dedicated to advancing solutions to U.S. education and workforce challenges. The activity will focus on Parsons’ work in cybersecurity as well as serve as a networking and development tool for students. In addition to its scheduled activity, Parsons will participate in an end-of-session event with other sponsors for all of the participating interns.
