A Pasadena-based entertainment development company is partnering with Six Flags Magic Mountain to create the latest Fright Fest attraction.

Aftermath 2: Chaos Rising — built by Mycotoo, Inc.  —will be the largest outdoor maze ever built for Magic Mountain’s Halloween festival. At 40,000 square feet features a half-mile of gore, two-story high custom facades and 13 scary scenes.

Headquartered on North Raymond Avenue in Old Pasadena, Mycotoo designs theme parks, resorts, rides, and live events for clients around the world. One recent project was a large “Bollywood” park built in Dubai.

Mycotoo uses an innovative approach that immerses guests into a constantly-changing world, making the attraction a different experience for attendees each time.

The Aftermath 2: Chaos Rising attraction’s “choose your own haunt” experience separates guests from each other from and creates an environment that is disorienting and chaotic, according to a media statement.

“Whether we are collaborating with a client or developing with a partner, our vision at Mycotoo is to help passionate people achieve,” said David Wally, Mycotoo’s Chief Creative Officer. He went on to state, “We want our collaborators to feel that we are all one team working together to achieve the same vision. That’s exactly how this project progressed and we could not have had a stronger collaboration with our friends at Six Flags Magic Mountain.”

In business since 2011, Mycotoo, has helped develop many theme-park attractions, such as the Waterworld stunt show at Universal Studios, the Queen Mary’s annual Dark Harbor Halloween special, the Bollywood Parks in Dubai and Portaventura’s Templo Del Fuego in Spain.

Six Flags Entertainment is the world’s biggest theme park company with 18 different locations across the United States, Mexico and Canada. Fright Fest, the company’s annual Halloween-oriented haunt, is celebrating its 24th year since beginning in 1989 at their Texas park and expanding to include Magic Mountain a few years later.
