Pasadena Brings Top Science and Aerospace Meetings to the Pasadena Convention Center

Recently, Pasadena welcomed three prestigious groups to the Pasadena Convention Center – The Conference on Quantum Information Processing (QIP), SAE International’s AeroTech®, and ASM International’s AeroMat.

QIP is the world’s largest conference in quantum information, a discipline that unites quantum physics and computer science. The growing field is at the root of many potential future applications, including quantum computers, quantum cryptography, and more. The conference was hosted by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) as a global convening of scientists and engineers to share information and developments in the field and build relationships.

“This is the first time the conference is being hosted in Southern California and is the first major collaboration on campus between the new AWS Center for Quantum Computing and Caltech,” says Spiros Michalakis, the outreach manager for Caltech’s Institute for Quantum Information and Matter, or IQIM, which helped organize the conference. The 25th QIP took place at the Pasadena Convention Center and the nearby Hilton hotel from March 7–11. In addition, tutorial lectures took place on the Caltech campus.

From March 15-17, SAE International® and ASM International co-located their AeroTech and AeroMat events at the Pasadena Convention Center for a premier conference focused on aerospace innovation. This is the first co-located conference for both events, which allowed the organizations to double the size of the exhibit space and technical sessions, while providing an unparalleled program for industry leaders to network, discuss and innovate.

SAE International’s AeroTech is a comprehensive aviation event focused on every facet of modern aircraft development. Each year, industry leaders gather to gain the latest technical knowledge in commercial, military, general aviation, rotary wing and unmanned aviation to shape the next generation of aircraft. ASM International has hosted the AeroMat conference and exposition for more than 30 years, showcasing the interchange of pertinent technical information in aerospace industry material and processes.
