The Pasadena Chalk Festival, scheduled to celebrate its 30th anniversary on Father’s Day Weekend in June, has been canceled.
The festival, held at The Paseo shopping center in downtown Pasadena for more than 15 years, was a popular event that drew hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors. It was also a benefit fundraiser for Light Bringer Project’s arts education programs in our schools.
Light Bringer Project said it was informed by the new owner of The Paseo, real estate developer Onni Group, that the previous financial and labor resources the festival has always relied upon will not be provided.
The organization is currently inquiring with other venues, also hoping to keep it in the Pasadena community.
Organizers urged fans and participants to follow pasadenachalkfestival.org for updates.
