Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Board OKs New Initiatives for 2023

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce has released its Program of Work for 2023, following a strategic planning session held by the Board of Directors in September of last year. The results of the brainstorming session were recently approved at the most recent Board meeting, and will serve as a guide for the Chamber’s operations and initiatives for the upcoming year.

Three new initiatives were approved as part of the plans.

The Chamber’s Program of Work statement begins with an opening statement acknowledging the challenges of the past three years, particularly the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chamber staff was furloughed two days a week for 18 months, during which time the Board of Directors took the opportunity to reassess the Chamber’s services, events, and activities for members.

The Board emphasized that the Pasadena Chamber provides a wide range of services to its members, including weekly email newsletters, networking events, social activities, informational seminars and workshops, advertising and promotional opportunities, and referrals. 

Building on these existing services, the Board added several new elements to the 2023 Work Program.

Firstly, the Chamber will aim to demonstrate its value to members and the community through its efforts on behalf of members, and will work with the Marketing and Technology Committee to publicize this work. 

Secondly, the Member Services Committee and Chamber staff will devise an incentive and recognition program for those who refer new members, which will be promoted to members. 

Finally, the Chamber will institute a regular testimonial program between members to highlight the value of Chamber membership and increase attendance at events. Member-to-member testimonials will be posted to social media.
