Pasadena City College Board of Trustees Incumbent President Jim Osterling announced on Wednesday he has received several major endorsements from leaders in local government and education.

Osterling serves Area 2 which includes Northeast Pasadena, East Altadena and Sierra Madre.

In a statement, Osterling said his endorsements include Congresswoman Judy Chu (D-Pasadena), Senator Anthony Portantino (D-Pasadena), assembly members Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) and Ed Chau (D-Arcadia), former State Treasurer John Chiang, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, retired long-time County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek and Vice-Mayor Tyron Hampton, Sierra Madre City Councilmember Rachelle Arizmendi, Community College League of California (CCLC) President Linda Wah (and PCC Trustee), ACT Pasadena and the Armenian National Committee of America, Pasadena Chapter (ANCA).

“Fortunately, the issues impacting Community Colleges tend to be non-partisan. We work collaboratively with elected officials on both sides of the aisle to help PCC and our students. Each year, I look forward to productive meetings with our representatives at the legislative summits in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. I greatly appreciate their support of community college education and their endorsements,” Osterling said.
