The Pasadena Public Health Department announced Friday that COVID-19 vaccine eligibility has been expanded to include people with severe health conditions, as defined by state policy.
An inquiry portal has been added to the city’s COVID-19 vaccination webpage allowing those with such conditions to request to be notified when a vaccination appointment is available.
“You will be asked to present proof of your medical condition with your name, such as a note from your physician or medical records documenting your diagnosis,” according to a city statement.
The eligible group in Pasadena already includes healthcare workers, long-term care facility residents and staff, seniors, educators, daycare workers, food and agricultural workers and emergency workers.
According to city data, more than 38,000 Pasadenans had received at least one dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine regimen, while over 22,000 more had received both doses.
All of the #COVID19 vaccines available—including the new J&J vaccine—are safe and highly effective, says Huntington Hospital Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Kimberly Shriner.
