A house fire in Pasadena drew a second-alarm response from firefighters before being extinguished on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The blaze was first reported about 5:45 p.m. at a home in the 800 block of Merrett Drive.
The initial firefighters to arrive on scene called for reinforcements due to the fast-spreading nature of the fire, city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said.
Knockdown was declared about 6:30 p.m., according to fire department radio traffic.
No injuries were initially reported.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
