The community is invited to join Pasadena police and fire officials Saturday as they take a moment to pay respects to the nearly 3,000 lives that were lost during the 9/11 terrorist attack 20 years ago.
“On the 20th anniversary of 9/11 we honor the lives of those who passed away on that tragic day and the impact it has had on our nation for years,” the Pasadena Fire Department said in a written statement.
Firefighters planned to join police at 6:45 a.m. for a brief ceremony in front of the flagpole at Fire Station 31, 135 S. Fair Oaks Ave., organizers said. Masks were recommended.
The city’s emergency dispatchers will broadcast a short radio message as part of the remembrance ceremony.
All Pasadena Fire Department stations plan to hold an observance at the same time, officials said.
