Pasadena Fraternity Chapter Presents 5 Scholarships

The Pasadena-based Zeta Tau Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. has announced five recipients of this year’s Eugene L. Quishenberry Scholarship.

The group is the sixth to receive the scholarship, which is given to graduating seniors from Pasadena public high schools, the organization said in a written statement.

“Applicants were chosen for their scholarship, service to their high schools, and the greater Pasadena community,” according to the statement.

A virtual celebration to honor the students will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday via Zoom. The meeting can be accessed online at us02web.zoom.us/j/84368824651?pwd=UkJ1aStQUnhqQ0Z3SDBWNVRwMXJ3dz09, using meeting ID 843 6882 4651 and Passcode 072608.

The recipients are Tae Brooks of John Muir High School; Cole Brown of Marshall Fundamental Secondary School; Noah Griffin of John Muir High School; Mason Len Usher of John Muir High School; and Dylan Wilson of John Muir High School.

“To be eligible for the scholarships students must be Black male high school seniors enrolled in Pasadena with at least a 3.0 grade point average,” the statement said. “They also must plan to attend an accredited university, submit a 300-word essay, high school transcripts and three letters of recommendation.”
