Pasadena Heritage Executive Director Application Process is Now Officially Open

The search to replace long-time Pasadena Heritage Executive Director Sue Mossman has begun. As announced last autumn, Mossman will retire this spring after 30 years of leadership in the organization and 45 years of dedication to Pasadena Heritage.

Pasadena Heritage identifies, preserves, and protects the historic, architectural, and cultural resources of the City of Pasadena through advocacy and education.

The search committee, with the aid of professional expertise, is undertaking steps to find the most suitable candidate for this vital leadership role, according to a statement released by the organization.

Board Chair Suzanne Marks and former Board Chair Steve Preston lead the committee.

Additionally, eight other current and former Board members, offering a variety of experiences and perspectives, are involved in the selection process.

“This transition will mark a pivotal moment in the life of our organization, and we are confident that Pasadena Heritage will continue to advocate, educate, and guide Pasadena in the years ahead under new leadership, just as it has under Sue Mossman’s direction,” the organization stated.

The Pasadena Heritage Search Committee has engaged Maura Harrington to assist with the search. The application process is now officially open.

In other news from Pasadena Heritage, the organization will hold its annual meeting at the historic Blinn House in Pasadena on Jan. 31. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for a welcoming reception, and the meeting will begin at 6 p.m. The Annual Meeting’s agenda includes the election of new Board members, a tribute to retiring Board members, and a review of the year 2023.
