Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center: Tune In, Turn In: A Teshuva Meditation Retreat

Longtime meditation teachers Sheila and Sheldon Lewis turn teshuva into a vehicle for transformation in this hands-on, contemplative, two-hour meditation journey. Through meditation, movement, guided imagery, niggun, and other practices, attendees will play and work with mind, heart, and soul to ready themselves for the New Year. All levels of pro”ciency welcome.

Meditation workshop will be held at the Wohlman Hall, on the 12th of September, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cost is $80.00 cash or check to Mitzvah Fund.

Sheila Lewis meditation teacher, author, writing and creativity coach, is passionate about leading others on journeys of transformation, healing, and restorative rest through yoga and meditation. She has created programs and curricula for leading national organizations including the Girl Scouts USA and the US Dept. of Education, as well as for a”er schools, synagogues, and Hebrew Schools. She frequently leads customized programs at the JCC in Manhattan, including for special needs young adults, young moms, seniors, and beginner and advanced meditators, and runs a monthly Meditation and Healing group. A”er receiving her MA from Teachers College, Columbia University, Sheila studied with leading teachers in the #elds of Reiki, Oriental medicine, hatha yoga, yoga-based meditation and Jewish mysticism and meditation. Mostly, she attributes daily meditation and reading a lot of books to her inspirations for writing and teaching.

Sheldon Lewis is an Integrative Health and Stress Management Consultant. He leads Meditation and Mind/Body/
Spirit groups, workshops, and classes in New York City and at $e Center for Women’s Health in Stamford, Connecticut.
He completed the Center for Mind-Body Medicine’s Advanced Professional Training in Mind-Body Medicine. His articles
have appeared in Spirituality & Health and other magazines and journals, and he is co-author of the book $e Human
Side of Cancer (HarperCollins). Both Sheila and Sheldon serve on the faculty of Makom, the Center for Mindfulness at JCC Manhattan.
