Pasadena’s young residents aged 14 to 24 from low to moderate-income households have a chance to participate in the City of Pasadena’s Realizing Opportunities through Skillful Employment (ROSE) Internship Program, earning up to $2,000 while gaining valuable skills and experience across various fields.

An announcement on the city’s website said the application period for the ROSE program begins Monday, April 1st and is up to April 30.

The ROSE Program is a tailored initiative designed to empower Pasadena’s youth by providing hands-on training, mentorship, and networking opportunities with professionals in their areas of interest. ROSE interns can work up to 110 hours in assignments spanning recreation, day camps, police, clerical, technology, and more.

The program operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested Pasadena youth can apply by visiting the official ROSE Program page starting on Monday, April 1.

To facilitate the application process, the city said the Computer Lab at Jackie Robinson Community Center will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the month of April so applicants could conveniently complete their submissions. The Jackie Robinson Community Center is located at 1020 N. Fair Oaks Ave. in Pasadena.

“All ROSE interns will be required to attend mandatory training prior to beginning work,” the announcement said. “All selected applicants will be notified of their training dates by email. Work assignments include, but are not limited to, recreation, maintenance, clerical, police, technology, etc.”

The ROSE program is sponsored by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) to serve Pasadena youth and young adults by promoting early development of employment skills.

Applicants are reminded that ROSE Program eligibility is restricted to Pasadena residents only. Altadena residents are not eligible, and students enrolled in the Pasadena Unified School District but residing outside of Pasadena are also not qualified for this opportunity.
